“Russalt”: dishes for the New Year’s table


By tradition, the New Year is not complete without salt. According to signs, the salt shaker must be on the festive table. In ancient times, it was believed that salt is able to absorb information. And good wishes will surely come true. And, of course, cooking is not complete without salt. The Russalt company shared the most unusual New Year’s recipes.


This fish is cooked on a “cushion” of salt and is also covered with salt during cooking as a blanket. This is an incredibly simple and delicious dish.

You will need:

  • Favorite sea fish (for example, sea bass or dorado. Low-fat fish will not work) – 1 pc.
  • Salt – 1 kg
  • Provence herbs – to taste

  1. Remove the gills and entrails, leave the scales, rinse the fish under running water
  2. Place foil or parchment paper on a baking sheet or grill grate
  3. Spread salt on the surface in a layer of 0.5–0.8 cm and lay the fish
  4. For flavor, you can put Provencal herbs or a sprig of rosemary in the belly of the fish.
  5. With the remaining salt, like a shell, completely cover the fish
  6. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 17–20 minutes
  7. After the time has elapsed, tap the salt crust with a spoon. Then remove the skin from the fish by simply grabbing it under the fins.

Serve this dish with grilled vegetables. You can also sprinkle the fish with lemon juice. So you can cook a chicken carcass, replacing the herbs with garlic, and pour the salt shell with cognac. It turns out delicious and very juicy!


There are a variety of additives to coffee that make it taste sweeter, sharper, bitter.
