Only three Russian regions are participating in a pilot project to improve the assessment and management of occupational safety risks. In addition to the Orenburg region, the Leningrad and Kemerovo regions became pioneers.

On February 10, Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler and First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Alexei Vovchenko signed an agreement on cooperation within the framework of the pilot project.

“The agreement defines a wide range of work on the assessment and management of professional risks. We have to create a transition that is comfortable for business from responding to incidents to preventing them. Take control of all factors that may influence the occurrence of accidents or occupational diseases. Our goal is to ensure the maximum safety of Orenburg residents.”

– said Denis Pasler.

For us, this is a great opportunity to be among the first in Russia to improve the labor protection system.

Orenburg enterprises readily responded to the proposal to take part in the project. 13 large enterprises with a total number of employees of almost 14 thousand people were selected. Among them is Russalt.

Their employees will take part in training seminars and briefings organized with the support of the federal ministry aimed at reducing occupational injuries.

“It is the experience gained by Orenburg enterprises that will form the basis of all the regulatory and legal regulation to be carried out”

Alexey Vovchenko emphasized.

“Ultimately, work to improve safety at work is a contribution to the health of residents and the growth of the economy of the region, which the leadership of the Orenburg region is set on.”
